Adult Learn to Hunt events are designed for adults who have limited hunting experience or for those who are curious about hunting but don’t know where to start. These beginner-friendly experiences offer hands-on instruction in firearm safety, hunting skills, and conservation, all in a supportive, no-pressure environment. Led by passionate mentors, you’ll gain confidence in the field, connect with like-minded people, and learn how hunting plays a vital role in wildlife and habitat conservation—no experience or gear needed, just a willingness to learn. This event is women-focused and is appropriate for ages 16 and up to 96.
Friday evening classroom work will run from 6 pm to 9 pm and will include presentations on habitat, upland game behavior, scouting ethical hunting locations, and live-fire trap shooting.
Saturday Field Day is planned for Dec 12th, 2026, and the time is weather-dependent. There is a rain date planned for Jan 9th, 2027. The field day will include instruction on hunting with dogs and game cleaning, and each attendee will be assigned a mentor to help with shooting technique and safety.
Note: Food, Firearms, and Ammo provided.
