Water, Agriculture & Wildlife: Special Session at National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic

Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever are pleased to host the Water Quality, Agriculture & Wildlife Special Session on the Habitat Stage at the 2015 National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic. Saturday’s special session will feature landowners and agency professionals discussing the adoption of voluntary conservation practices which promote soil health, financial benefits, clean water, and increased wildlife habitat.

The Water Quality, Agriculture & Wildlife Special Session will feature a number of well-known speakers from Iowa’s agriculture community including Roger Wolf from the Iowa Soybean Association, and Secretary Bill Northey from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Topics throughout the special session will focus on water quality programs and best-management practices designed to help Iowa fulfill goals outlined in the state’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy.

“Nutrient and water challenges in Iowa are too complex to solve with any single approach,” said Roger Wolf, director of environmental programs & services for Iowa Soybean Association. “To achieve water quality standards, we need unprecedented alignment and coordination among many partners.  Pheasants Forever and Iowa Soybean Association are working together to help farmers continuously improve soil and water management, while supporting various conservation measures. What’s not to like about that?”
