Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Chapters Awarded for Largest Membership Banquets

At its National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic event, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever awarded Chapter Membership Awards to chapter affiliates that held the largest membership banquets in the country. Recognized were the Pheasant Country (South Dakota) Chapter of Pheasants Forever with 772 memberships and the Missouri River Valley (Missouri) Chapter of Quail Forever with 234 memberships.

"Membership is what fuels Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever's wildlife habitat engine," said Howard Vincent, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever President and CEO. "Protecting pheasants, quail, and other upland birds is an uphill battle without the support of citizen conservationists. For more than three decades, local chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have given upland hunters an outlet for their passion, and local chapter banquets continue to be incredibly successful at raising money for local wildlife habitat projects. Congratulations to these two outstanding chapters."

Pheasant Country Chapter of Pheasants Forever

Based in Mitchell, South Dakota, the Pheasant Country Chapter of Pheasants Forever has earned the Chapter Membership Award for the second consecutive year. This year, the chapter actually sold out of banquet tickets two days prior to their event. However, they were willing to squeeze in a few extra guests, resulting in 772 members at the group’s 29th banquet. Thanks to these membership and fundraising efforts, the Pheasant Country Chapter of Pheasants Forever spent more than $71,000 to complete 187 projects benefitting wildlife on 3,955 acres in 2014.

Missouri River Valley Chapter of Quail Forever

Based in Washington, Missouri, the Missouri River Valley Chapter of Quail Forever now has another chapter award to add to its collection, having won the Missouri Chapter of the Year Award in 2012. This year, the chapter has been awarded the Chapter Membership Award for the 234 members counted at its banquet. Thanks to these membership and fundraising efforts, the Missouri River Valley Chapter of Quail Forever spent more than $20,000 to complete 104 habitat projects benefiting wildlife on 503 acres in 2014.
