Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce the promotion of Tanner Bruse to Minnesota state coordinator. In his new role, Bruse will drive habitat programs, lead an already talented team of field staff and work closely with partners, local chapters and other stakeholders. This work will ensure habitat continues to be recognized as a critically important driver of abundant wildlife populations while supporting sustainable agriculture, healthy soil and clean water.
“We’re incredibly excited to see Tanner take the next step in his career with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever,” said Eran Sandquist, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Midwest director of conservation delivery. “His experience sets him up perfectly to help our team in Minnesota promote quality habitat for pheasants, quail, pollinators and all of the other species connected to the uplands.”
Prior to joining Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, Bruse was employed as the sporting goods manager for Runnings Farm and Outdoor Store. He began his career with The Habitat Organization as a Farm Bill biologist in February 2014 and was promoted a year later to Farm Bill Biologist manager for Minnesota. In 2018, Bruse transitioned to his most recent role as ag and conservation program manager for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever in a multi-state region. He holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science from South Dakota State University.
Bruse will now coordinate and lead state level habitat and advocacy efforts in Minnesota. He’ll ensure effective conservation delivery throughout Minnesota’s pheasant range on both public and private lands. Bruse will also help build new and existing landscape-level habitat initiatives, including Minnesota’s Farm Bill Biologist Program, Enhanced Public Lands and acreage acceleration of wildlife management areas in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
“Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever has been my home for the better part of a decade, and I’m proud to take on this new role. The organization has always been a part of my life, from attending banquets in Nobles County and being a volunteer on the Lyon County Chapter to my employment over the last nine years, I’ve experienced first hand what passionate partners, staff and volunteers can accomplish together,” Bruse said. “I’m extremely humbled and proud to have an opportunity to work with our conservation, agriculture and volunteer communities to further drive conservation priorities in this amazing state.”
