The Habitat Organization is Proud to Continue Longest Tenured Partnership with Federal Ammunition

Federal Ammunition has renewed its commitment to conservation as Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Official Ammunition partner. The national partnership extends a collaboration that has been ongoing since the mid-1980s between one of the world’s leading ammunition manufacturers and the nation’s leading upland conservation organization.  The partnership also includes presenting sponsorship of the organization’s National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic returning to the Minneapolis Convention Center on February 14-16, 2020.

In addition to the national sponsorship, Federal Ammunition also contributes to the organization’s habitat mission every time a box of Prairie Storm or Wing Shok ammo featuring the Pheasants Forever logo is sold.  Since the on-the-box royalty began in 1998, more than 50 million rounds of shotgun shells have been sold in support of Pheasants Forever.

"Earning our customers’ business every day starts by ensuring our patrons have places and things to hunt,” said Ryan Bronson, Federal’s Director of Conservation and Policy. “By investing in Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever we have a guaranteed return in more public lands and more acres of habitat."

All firearms and ammunition sold in the United States contribute to conservation through the 11 percent federal Pittman Robertson excise tax. Federal Ammunition’s parent company Vista Outdoor has paid an average of over $80 million a year over the past 5 years, with those dollars going straight to state wildlife management efforts. Federal’s on-the-box royalty program with Pheasants Forever is a voluntary contribution that is above and beyond the tax and reflects the company’s commitment to conservation.

“If you’re a bird hunter, then it’s really a no-brainer to select a Federal Ammunition brand bird load. Not only does Federal Ammunition have the best shotshell technology on the market at a variety of price points, they’re also a clear conservation leader with nearly four decades of support for our organization’s habitat mission,” explained Chris Kalis, Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s director of corporate partnerships.
