Dr. James Johnson to Help Steer Development Efforts of “The Habitat Organization”

Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever is proud to announce Dr. James Johnson as the newly hired Great Plains Development Officer. Sharing a lifelong passion for the outdoors and upland hunting, Johnson will work closely with members and supporters to increase organizational charitable giving in the name of wildlife habitat conservation efforts nationwide.

Johnson will be responsible for working in collaboration with Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever team members, volunteers, and associates to develop new private, corporate, and public funding relationships with the goal of accelerating the organization’s mission of wildlife habitat conservation. “It is truly an honor to be invited to work on this team.  To be associated with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever is an awesome privilege. I am very excited to help build the legacy of our great cause,” stated Johnson.  Additionally, developing a stronger culture of philanthropy among Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever constituents is a position priority. This includes but is not limited to: charitable gifts, real estate, endowments, grant funding, memorials, wills and living trusts, and partnership support through specific corporate programs.

Dr. James Johnson – Omaha, Nebraska

Dr. James Johnson is serving as the organization’s Great Plains Development Officer and is based at his office is Omaha, Nebraska. Johnson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lubbock Christian University in 1979 before moving forward to earn his Master’s degree and a Doctoral degree from Texas Tech University in 82’ and 86’. 
 
Johnson began his professional fundraising career in 1988 and since that time, has led several major fundraising efforts and capital projects throughout the United States, including a highly successful $20 million university campaign where he served as Senior Vice President for Advancement & External Affairs. Rounding out his development experience, Johnson has worked for the prestigious fundraising firm of Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners (Chicago) and also as a fundraising instructor for the Institute for Charitable Giving.
 
While Johnson has deep experience in fundraising, he has also won numerous awards for public speaking and training.  Among his personal achievements, Johnson was presented the Public Service Award by President George W. Bush, as well as the Citizen of the Year Award in San Angelo, Texas.  Furthermore, he is the author of the book, “Why is No One Following Me?” and has also been featured in West Virginia Magazine and Omaha Magazine.
