Irish Setter Renews Commitment to Conservation as Official Hunting Boot of Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever

Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever is excited to announce Irish Setter Boots™ as a renewing national sponsor and the official upland hunting boot of “The Habitat Organization.” The partnership continues the bond between two Minnesota-based businesses with a focus on creating quality habitat for bird hunters to lace up their favorite pair of boots and chase a bird dog.

“A good bird dog, quality habitat, and a comfortable pair of boots are key ingredients of a perfect day in the field.  At Irish Setter, we produce boots crafted for hunters, by hunters. And we know that through this partnership we’re helping to create quality habitat for future generations of hunters,” explained Maurice McClurg, Irish Setter Marketing Manager.  “You’re on your own for a good bird dog.”

“As my family, friends and co-workers can attest, I wear Irish Setter’s Wingshooter model boots every day of the year,” explained Bob St.Pierre, Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s vice president of marketing.  “I wear them because they are comfortable, because they are fashionable and because I’m incredibly proud of Irish Setter’s commitment to conservation.”

Irish Setter is part of an impressive list of Minnesota-based companies who have witnessed the impact of Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever projects in their local communities, and have stepped up to make a commitment to conservation as national sponsors of the organization. Of the organization’s ten national sponsors, Irish Setter, Gander Mountain, Federal Premium Ammunition, Polaris Ranger, and Apple Autos are all headquartered in Minnesota.

In addition to advertising in Pheasants Forever JournalQuail Forever Journal, and the organization’s websites and social media channels, the following highlights key components of the partnership:

  • National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic – As a silver sponsor for the 2018 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Irish Setter Brand hunting boots and other products will be displayed for the event’s 25,000 attendees in “Rooster Row,” one of the premiere booth locations for the convention.
  • Bird Dogs for Habitat – Irish Setter will co-sponsor the 2017 Bird Dogs for Habitat campaign, an online fundraising contest for members and supporters to vote for their favorite breed of bird dog. To be held this April, every $1 donation to the campaign will equate to one vote for the donor’s favorite breed of bird dog.  Irish Setter’s contribution will serve as a challenge match to jumpstart the fundraising efforts.
  • Bird Dog ID Contest on Facebook – Once a month, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever will post a Facebook contest allowing members to guess the breed of bird dog pictured.  Irish Setter will be the presenting sponsor of this contest. • Build a Wildlife Program – Irish Setter will also offer support to the organization’s Build A Wildlife Area campaign. Through this effort, Pheasants Forever and its partners purchase land that becomes a public wildlife area open to public hunting. Since 2003, Pheasants Forever's Build a Wildlife Area program has helped create over 35 project areas nearly totaling over 40,000 acres of permanently conserved wildlife habitat.
