Pheasants Forever’s Olson Takes Lead as Eastern Minnesota Regional Representative

Pheasants Forever has appointed Steven Olson, a Minnesota native, as the organization’s Eastern Minnesota Regional Representative. In his new role, Olson looks to support the ever-growing wildlife habitat mission of the organization in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, currently home to 74 Pheasants Forever chapters, two Quail Forever chapters, and more than 24,000 members.

“To say I am excited about the opportunity to work with the Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever volunteers is an understatement,” explained Olson. “I am eager to consult with our local chapters and deliver the mission of Pheasants Forever by acquiring, developing, and securing wildlife habitat in Minnesota. The work we accomplish together is important for passing on the traditions of hunting and conservation to those who follow in our footsteps.”

Originally from Hoffman, Minn., Olson embodies the values of Pheasants Forever as a dedicated conservationist and lifelong upland hunter in western Minnesota. Rounding out his passion for the outdoors, Olson dedicates many hours throughout the year by “paying it forward” as a firearms safety instructor to up-and-coming hunters in the state.

“Leadership for our chapters is critical for the success of the Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever local model,” stated Tom Fuller, Pheasants Forever’s north region director. “Olson comes to our organization with a long list of accolades and proven successes in his professional career which make him a great candidate for this position. With the guidance and knowledge that Olson possesses, I believe he will take our Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters in new and exciting directions.”

Olson earned a B.S. of Science in Education degree in 1985 from North Dakota State University. Prior to joining Pheasants Forever, Olson was the Director of Student Services for St. Cloud State University and also held the position of Field Director for Whitetails Unlimited from 2005 – 2009. Supporting him during this transition is his partner, Amy, and his four adult children, Megan, Kristofer, Sam, and Jon.

Olson officially started as the Eastern Minnesota Regional Representative on May 11 and can be contacted at (320) 333-2554 / email.
