Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever 2015 Nebraska Habitat Tours

A set of landowner habitat tours across Nebraska have been scheduled for 2015, beginning June 11. The tours are sponsored by chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever in Nebraska, the Nebraska Environmental Trust, USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
 
The tour dates, topics, and locations include:

Results of Prescribed Fire in the Canyons Travel through the Loess Canyons to see the remarkable difference prescribed fire has made in recent years. See the results of the landowner led Loess Canyons Rangeland Alliance (LCRA) Prescribed Burn Association and their massive efforts to battle Eastern Red Cedar encroachment.  Curtis Community Center

What's the Buzz about Pollinators? This tour will highlight areas where habitat management activities have been implemented to enhance the landscape for wildlife and pollinators. Quail Management and CRP Practices Learn how to improve quail habitat with simple management techniques such as edge-feathering, creating down tree structures, and the importance of early successional habitat. See how CRP can be tailored to enhance quail habitat and benefit other species.
