A spring and summer set of landowner habitat tours across Nebraska have been scheduled, beginning May 20. The tours are sponsored by the Nebraska chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, the Nebraska Environmental Trust, USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
The tour dates, topics and locations include:
May 20: Habitat management for birds through the Conservation Reserve Program and bird identification, Union Bank Meeting Room, Fairbury, beginning at 9 a.m.
June 11: Bobwhite quail habitat needs and habitat management, Alexandria Community Center, Alexandria, 11 a.m.

June 25: Developing seed mixes for your habitat project, USDA Service Center, Trenton, 11 a.m.
June 26: Benefits of prescribed fire, Curtis Cattle Co., Curtis, 5:30 p.m.
June 26: Pollinator habitat past and present, Lexington Public Library, Lexington, 9 a.m.
June 27: Where are all the pheasants? UN-L West Central Research and Extension Center, North Platte, noon.
July 10: Prairie and wetland restoration in eastern Nebraska, Tekamah Memorial Park, Tekamah, 5:30 p.m.
July 19: Lake Wanahoo wildlife and wildflower walk, Lake Wanahoo, Wahoo, 9:30 a.m.
July 24: Upgrading and managing CRP and Wetlands Reserve Program for grassland birds, pollinator habitat and plant identification, Williams Cabins near Fullerton, 11 a.m.
July 24: CRP mid-contract management activities, One Box Gun Club, Broken Bow, 9 a.m.
Aug. 14: Northeast Nebraska focus on pheasant efforts, southwestern Knox County, intersection of 518 Ave. and 876 Rd., noon.
Aug. 21: Rangeland management, Mid-Plains Community College, Broken Bow, 7 p.m.
Sept. 19: Critical role of pollinators, Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, Nebraska City, 7 p.m.
