Public Land Acquisitions Map

Protecting wildlife habitat & creating access

Since the organization's formation in 1982, Pheasants Forever has put a priority on acquiring lands that are critically important as wildlife habitat and opening those lands to public hunting and outdoor recreation opportunities. These land acquisition projects have been completed in conjunction with local, state, and federal natural resource agencies, and all the projects permanently protect habitat that is open to public hunting.

In 2021, “The Habitat Organization” surpassed 212,000 acres of public lands contributions; the equivalent of 331 square miles of pheasant and quail country for upland hunters and their bird dogs to make memories afield. In our minds, this is just the beginning of a much larger impact nationwide.

We've created a one-stop-shop to locate and learn about the organization’s public access and permanent wildlife habitat protection efforts. The mapping application debuts with access properties throughout the Land of 10,000 Lakes: Minnesota. In the months to come, the remaining acquisitions throughout the country will be added. Purchased, restored and enhanced by Pheasants Forever, these beautiful public properties are available for all to enjoy thanks to the efforts of chapters, members and staffers working with a unified vision of pheasants, Pheasants Forever.

Each permanent habitat protection project listed within the map is contributing to the goals of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Call of the Uplands® National Campaign - a recently announced monumental initiative to save America’s uplands and cultivate the next generation of conservationists and hunters.
