Pheasants Forever in Montana
- Montana is home to 14 Pheasants Forever chapters and more than 2,200 Pheasants Forever members.
- Thanks to 1,486 Pheasants Forever projects, 43,648 acres have been improved for pheasants and other upland wildlife in Montana. This includes 14 land acquisition projects that have permanently conserved 6,551 acres while simultaneously opening them to public hunting and access.
Projects Profile
Included among the projects Rooster Road Trip 2015 will tour are:
- Located six miles north of Denton, Montana, the 800-acre Coffee Creek Block Management Area is located between a 320-acre parcel and an 880-acre parcel of land – all three areas are open to public hunting. Miles of shrub row, nesting, and brooding-rearing plantings, along with intensive habitat management, provide excellent conditions for upland birds, deer, and non-game species of wildlife. This keystone project was led by the Central Montana Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
- The purchase of the Moylan/Wolf Creek Property was finalized in 2008 by a consortium of Montana Pheasants Forever chapters and several other conservation organizations. The property is located about 10 miles east of Denton and is enrolled in the Block Management program. This key property is contiguous to another 1,600 acres of Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation land and the Beckman Wildlife Management Area, creating a package of more than 10,000 acres of land open to hunting and outdoor recreation.

- License – Full season nonresident ($110) plus Hunting Access Enhancement Fee ($10 for nonresidents); 3-day Upland Game Bird License is available for $50
- Shooting Hours - One-half hour before sunrise and end one-half hour after sunset each day of the hunting season
- Daily Bag Limit - 3
- Possession Limit - 9
