Browning Citori 725 Feather: Emphasis on “Feather”

Our Rooster Road Trip may stir up thoughts about us “living the dream,” and to be honest, the ability to spend a week hunting publicly-accessible land in Pheasant Country is a dream. That said, the second I get home, it’s back to reality and with that comes my unreliable SUV, decent Minnesota Wildlife Management Areas, and my trusty 12 gauge Browning Citori Lighting Sporting Clays Edition.

That’s right, I’m a Browning Citori guy through-and-through, so when I was approached about putting the new 12 gauge Citori 725 Feather through its paces I was more than excited. It’s not every day a young guy gets to shoulder a brand new over/under and here’s the best part: I’m giving away the same gun I’ve been touting all week– for FREE - to one lucky person who joins or renews their membership with Pheasants Forever through this special link. And trust me, you want this gun.

I love my personal gun and I’ll continue to shoot it for the rest of my life, but the second I felt how light the Citori 725 Feather is, I started to laugh. It’s an upland hunter’s dream, the days of having to switch how you hold your gun as you tack on the miles are long gone. It truly allows you to stay in the ready position all day – and once a rooster does get up, it’s game over.

Smooth to shoulder and quick to acquire targets, the 12 gauge Browning Citori 725 Feather had me shooting at a 90 percent success rate straight out-of-the-box in Montana on everything from pheasants to sharptails and fast-flying Hungarian partridge. And surprisingly, its weight didn’t add much kick when firing powerful Federal Premium Prairie Storm loads - which I was more than happy to discover time-and-time again (I say this because our first stop in North Dakota wasn’t quite as kind to my shooting percentage).

This morning I may have connected on two roosters, but I scared plenty away, doing my part to keep the ammo industry in business. But guess what? My shoulder is no worse for wear – and I can’t think of a better compliment to give a super light gorgeous, 12 gauge shotgun.
