This 1-day event packs years of experience and research into a handful of presentations and posters. You’ll have a chance to interact with some of today’s leading researchers on quail, pheasants, and other upland birds. Join us as we “nerd out” on all things upland bird related.

The event features an incredible lineup. Dr. James Martin of the University of Georgia, Dr. Dwayne Elmore of Tall Timbers Research Station, Grant Ravary, MS student at Ohio State University, and PF/QF’s Dr. Jessica McGuire and Dr. Scott Taylor will be presenting the latest information on habitat management.

Speaker sessions will range from 15- to 30-minutes, and there will be time for questions from the audience. Morning sessions repeat in the afternoon, and all are free and open to the public. Come soak up a wealth of knowledge to share with your friends and put in practice where you hunt.

In conjunction with our Upland Bird Technical Sessions, we will also be hosting our first ever Student Poster Session. This exciting new addition will showcase college students’ research from around the country.

Research topics include bobwhite quail, pheasants, female hunters, automated recording units (ARUs), and more! It’s set to be a great learning experience and a beneficial event for our student participants as well.

Posters will be displayed in the back of the room (Rooms 8, 9, & 10) while the technical presentations are given. Students will be available at their posters for discussion from 11-12 and 3-4 p.m. for one-on-one conversations and in-depth explanations of their research. Session attendees will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite poster and student participants will be awarded prizes for their efforts based on voting. Voting will be open Saturday, March 1st at noon and close Saturday, March 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
