Conservation and Sustainability Leaders Flock to the Twin Cities

The national spotlight will be on Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s hometown as the Field to Market Plenary and the Sustainable Agriculture Summit are hosted in the Twin Cities this year. The Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever (PF & QF) team is highly engaged and provides leadership as Field to Market members and Summit participants, supporting numerous partners and individual producers with our approach to delivering upland habitat as a sustainability solution.

Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture is a coalition of 190 member organizations across the food and agriculture value chain who work together to support resilient ecosystems and enhance farmer livelihoods. Members include non-profit organizations like PF & QF, brands like Nestlé Purina, PepsiCo, and Walmart, agricultural businesses like Bayer and Syngenta, and grower organizations like Cotton Incorporated and the United Sorghum Checkoff Program. Field to Market’s Plenary meeting is immediately followed by the Sustainable Agriculture Summit, which they organize with cohost partner the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.

PF & QF and Landus are co-sponsoring Field to Market’s Welcome Reception to kick off the national gathering of members at the Plenary. PF & QF President and CEO Marilyn Vetter will provide opening remarks, along with Carrie Vollmer-Sanders (Field to Market President) and Craig Mouchka (Landus Director, Strategic Partners). The Welcome Reception is open to all Field to Market members registered for the Plenary.

Later in the week, Dr. Brent Rudolph, PF & QF Director of Sustainability Partnerships, will moderate a panel session at the Sustainable Agriculture Summit to stimulate discussion about how conservationists, scientists, and industry leaders can work together to support economically viable ways for farmers and ranchers to create wildlife habitat while delivering multiple additional sustainability benefits, like providing climate solutions, protecting water quality, and enhancing biodiversity. Sustainability and conservation science leaders participating in the panel include Jack Scott (Nestlé Purina Vice President of Sustainable Sourcing), Liz Hunt (Syngenta Head of Sustainable & Responsible Business), Dr. Ellen Herbert (Ecosystem Services Scientist, Ducks Unlimited), and Dr. Mark McConnell (Assistant Professor of Upland Birds at Mississippi State University). The panel will be open to the sold-out crowd of Sustainable Agriculture Summit registered participants.
