With the support of people like you, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Build a Wildlife Area® program has permanently protected more than 22 square miles of habitat in 14 states through this unique, partner-driven matching gift program.

The Bobwhite Hills Wildlife Management Area is a permanent habitat protection project contributing to the goals of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Call of the Uplands® national campaign - a monumental initiative to save America’s uplands and cultivate the next generation of conservationists and hunters

This week we’re celebrating our past successes, sharing more about our ambitious goals, and rallying to raise support for the Build a Wildlife Area program.

Welcome to Build a Wildlife Area Week!

The 774-acre Bobwhite Hills Wildlife Management Area features longleaf pine savannah in the heart of the South Carolina Bobwhite Initiative’s central region focal area. Quail Forever is currently working with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources on creating a management and access plan for the property to incorporate objectives for hunting, wildlife viewing, hiking, and ecological education and research.

The property abuts a 2,000-acre leased Wildlife Management Area and is a focal point of the USDA NRCS - South Carolina Longleaf Pine Initiative, the National Bobwhite Conservation Initiative, located between two Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Areas, and is identified as a medium priority focus area of the South Carolina Conservation Bank.

Funding support for this project came from the South Carolina Conservation Bank, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, private donors to Build a Wildlife Area®, and a land value donation to Quail Forever.

By donating to our Build a Wildlife Area, you will ensure our organization is able to secure more properties like the recent Bobwhite Hills Wildlife Management Area in Lee and Sumter Counties, South Carolina.

This week only, support the permanent protection efforts of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever with a donation of $50 or more to Build a Wildlife Area and you’ll receive a FREE onX Hunt Elite Membership with map layers for all 50 states!
