Days Gone By: October 2008
First Rooster
Gary Tidball, Muskegon, Michigan, and his first pheasant in 1949, age 12, in Genesee County. "I still vividly remember the bird flushing out of a wheat stubble field, and how excited I was getting my first bird. This verifies the fact that taking a kid hunting will give both father and son memories they will never forget," Tidball writes.
If you have story ideas, dog photos, pre-1980 hunting photos and requests for future On The Wing consideration, please send correspondence to ahauck@pheasantsforever.org.
