Days Gone By: July 2008
PF member Tom Weyandt, husband of PF/QF Membership Director Diane Weyandt, sent in this photo of himself, right, age 3, and cousin Bobby Puchleitner, 4, near Rose Creek, southeast Minnesota, in 1953. The boys were holding their fathers' bag taken on the farm of Nick and Tillie Bisson. "I remember hunting with them on the same ground when I turned 16 with a single shot .410 bolt. I didn't shoot anything, but Uncle Ed got one. Later that day Uncle Nick gave me a baby pig to hold. It ended up making my jacket smell so bad that I think my mom had to throw it away. Obviously Bobby should have tossed his jacket at least a year before the picture was taken," Tom mused.
If you have story ideas, dog photos, pre-1980 hunting photos and requests for future On The Wing consideration, please send correspondence to ahauck@pheasantsforever.org.
