Rivers, islands and canoes are typically left to waterfowlers, but that changes on this week's episode of Pheasants Forever Television, when the show travels to Fort Benton, Montana, for a pheasant hunt on the islands of the Missouri River. The show will air on Outdoor Channel this Thursday at 1 AM CDT / 2 AM EDT, Friday at 7:30 AM CDT / 8:30 AM EDT and Sunday at 3 PM CDT / 4 PM EDT.

A historic western town, Fort Benton is formerly known as the "The Bloodiest Block in the West." Nowadays, this old cowboy town is an outdoor enthusiasts' paradise, especially for canoeists on the big Missouri. Summer paddlers don't get to have all the fun, though, as Pheasants Forever's Bob St.Pierre leads an expedition of hunters who load up their canoes and find the river's islands are home to quality habitat and plenty of ringnecks.

Next, travel with Pheasants Forever Television to Madelia, Minnesota, better known as the "The Pheasant Capital of Minnesota," as it celebrates a pheasant hunting opener. This special day shows Madelia hunters care about conservation just as much as they care about hunting.

Finally, Pheasants Forever Television travels to Urbandale, Iowa, for a great event known as Forever Outdoors. Here, the focus is to help future generations achieve knowledge and awareness when it comes to conservation.

Season 6 of Pheasants Forever Television can be seen at the following air times through the end of 2010:

  • Thursdays at 1 AM CDT / 2 AM EDT
  • Fridays at 7:30 AM CDT / 8:30 AM EDT
  • Sundays at 3 PM CDT / 4 PM EDT
