Five Question Friday: Lynn Peterson

Five Question Friday with Lynn Peterson of the Rooster Booster Chapter of PF in Great Bend, Kansas
PF: The best piece of hunting advice you ever received was...?
LP: That is an easy one, "Take your kids Hunting." God has blessed me with many great hunting experiences, like calling the first turkeys in for my wife and kids, and watching a niece, many nephews and my son harvest their first roosters.
Some of the best days in the field for me have been taking out first time hunters. One of the best trophies a hunter can take from the field is the smile on the face of someone who has just harvested their first rooster. No matter how long we have been hunting, all of us can still remember the first rooster that folded when we pull the trigger. All of us need to make sure we take the time to pass on the opportunity for others to have the memory.
PF: Rarest animal you've ever seen afield...?
LP: I once thought I saw a liberal anti-hunter out quail hunting, but when I asked the guy about his Al Gore for President bumper sticker, he said he had borrowed the pickup from is father-in-law. He quickly rubbed mud over the sticker so no one else would make the mistake I had.
PF: Person in history you'd most like to meet...?
LP: T. R. Roosevelt - "It is not what we have that will make us a great nation; it is the way in which we use it." - Dakota Territory, July 4, 1886. Anyone who could see the great potential for this nation at that time and the need to protect its resources would definitely be someone I would like to sit around a campfire with. And he would have some great hunting stories.
PF: Who will have the better football team this fall, Kansas or K-State?
LP: This fall and any fall, K-State will always have the better football team. GO CATS!!!
PF: How many times do you think you've heard the quote, "We're not in Kansas anymore."?
LP: I have no idea, but I do like the saying. As long as everyone outside the state thinks all we have to offer is munchkins, tornados and a cute farm girl with a little dog, all of us who live here will just keep on enjoying all the great hunting.
