Five Question Friday: Mick Greenlee

Five Question Friday: Mick Greenlee

Five Question Friday with Mick Greenlee of the Northern Colorado Chapter of PF in Colorado.

PF: Where is Colorado's best pheasant hunting?

MG: Wherever you can find good habitat. When I'm not hunting upland birds on my wife's relative's land in southwestern North Dakota, I head for the northeastern corner of Colorado. The closer to Nebraska and Kansas that you get, the better. The Colorado Department of Wildlife (DOW) initiated a Walk-In program 4 or 5 years ago and that has helped open up a lot of good land to the public. I have had a lot more opportunities to hunt this area thanks the DOW, land owners and organizations like PF.

PF: Highest elevation in Colorado you've ever been to...?

MG: We have 53 peaks in Colorado that are over 14,000 ft. A couple of them you can drive up, the rest of them must be hiked or climbed. My highest is Longs Peak at 14,522 ft. (hiked multiple times).

PF: You're best known for ...?

MG: I'm not sure that I'm known for anything, but to my family and friends it would have to be my love of the outdoors and the love of my bird dogs.

PF: Holiday you'd like to see done away with...?

MG: My birthday. Yikes!

PF: Fan of the current Broncos uniforms, or bring back the "Orange Crush"?

MG: Who has time for football during hunting season? At first I didn't like the new uniforms but they have grown on me and now that's who the Broncos are. It really doesn't matter a long as they don't go back the uniforms of the 1960's with the vertical striped socks.
