Five Question Friday: Chad Dose

Five Question Friday with Chad Dose, President of the Sibley County (Minnesota) Chapter of PF. Dose is a special education teacher at Sibley East H.S. in Arlington, Minnesota.
PF: Is school cafeteria food still as bad as we remember?
CD: I'd say it has gotten better and maybe a little more diverse. Now students have the choice of not only one meal, but a salad bar and/or Ala Carte menu as well.
PF: Does being a teacher afford you the opportunity of hunting after school?
CD: Early on it did ! Now that I'm married and have two kids and I also coach baseball it has slowed that down a bit. I do try to get out at least once during the week though when the opportunity allows me.
PF: If you could change one hunting regulation, what would it be?
CD: I don't know any specifically off the top of my head, but I think that if they would make some of the changes or updates a little less confusing as you read it in the book it would be helpful. I know that has been an issue that past couple of years with the ever-changing and updating of the regulations.
PF: Do you have a pheasant opener tradition you could share with us?
CD: I guess I don't have any major opening day traditions besides just getting out on the opener ever year. But hopefully that will change into something traditional in the future when my two kids will be old enough to hunt with me.
PF: Can you tell us about the conservation club you're starting at your school?
CD: Right now it's in the brainstorming process and hasn't become official yet, but considering I'm the local President of Sibley County PF, I'd like to be biased toward that organization. I think what I'd like to do though is establish a conservation club within the high school that will reach out to all conservation organizations - not just limited to PF. I believe all conservation groups are in it together and I basically want to get these kids involved with all groups. My main objective is to get them involved and educate them on how to become good stewards of the land and volunteer in their community.
