New Face for Conservation in Montana: Pheasants Forever Hires Chad Harvey

Pheasants Forever has appointed Chad Harvey as the organization’s new Montana Regional Representative. In his new role, Harvey will provide support and guidance for volunteers in Big Sky Country, home to 15 Pheasants Forever chapters and more than 2,100 members of “The Habitat Organization.”

“Adding this talented individual to our team in Montana will allow Pheasants Forever to continue its important work throughout the state, but also help bring new opportunities to deliver the organization’s mission of wildlife habitat conservation,” said Sam Lawry, western regional director for Pheasants Forever. “I encourage all of our existing chapters and members to welcome Chad Harvey to our ranks and help him strengthen the potential of our grassroots workforce and conservation partnerships in the West.”

Harvey was born and raised in Harrisville, Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron where he gained respect and appreciation for the outdoors at an early age, dedicating much of his youth to hunting and fishing. After completing his college education and earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University, Harvey was selected for enrollment in a competitive management training program for Union Pacific Railroad which relocated him to Portland, Oregon. Working his way through the ranks of the company to his most recent role as Manager of Intermodal Terminal Operations, Harvey has been a resident and sportsman of the West Coast since 2005.

“Although new to the organization, I envision my role as a cog within a big conservation machine; each part working together to enhance upland habitat, wildlife populations and access,” stated Chad Harvey, regional representative for Montana. “Among other goals, my contribution will come through driving member recruitment, leading communication between local chapters, motivating volunteer efforts, and building new relationships with supporters across the state to help deliver the Pheasants Forever mission.”

No stranger to outdoor lifestyle, Harvey’s passion for hunting and conservation has led him to pursue upland birds, big game, and waterfowl throughout much of the western states and Canada. Adding to a long list of outdoor pursuits, Harvey is a current pro staff member for two hunting companies, First Lite and BOW ADX, and also has experience as a part-time entrepreneur of his own firearms business, Gun Dog Arms. “A desire to give back to wild things and wild places led me to Pheasants Forever,” added Harvey.

Harvey officially starts as the Montana Regional Representative on July 10th and will be stationed in the city of Missoula.
