Presents Dog of the Day

Tango

f0773740-e4a9-4e77-a556-e81da71dc7f6 “Tango” is Pheasants Forever member Brad Brunken’s 8-year-old Labrador retriever. Tango found this rooster during a pursuit on publicly-accessed ground in Michigan. “The game area is part of the Michigan Pheasants Restoration Initiative (MPRI) and was funded by both Pheasants Forever chapters and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR),” Brunken says, “Tango started to get ‘birdie’ in the middle of a large CRP field and began pushing and trailing the pheasant towards the end of the field. Nearing the end of the field, Tango started to go into ever tighter circles and finally flushed this nice looking rooster right in front of me. A single shot was needed and Tango made a great retrieve and brought the bird back to my feet.” An active Pheasants Forever volunteer, Brunken is encouraged by the ongoing upland effort. “This rooster proves that partnerships with the Michigan DNR and PF in planting quality cover and food plots enable pheasants to thrive. It is really about habitat!”
