“Maci,” Pheasants Forever member Doug Leschisin’s 7-year-old golden retriever, flushed and retrieved this limit of roosters from a Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) Walk-In Area in northeast South Dakota. “I'm one of those fortunate hunters that can walk out my door and start pheasant hunting,” says the South Dakotan, “Maci and I mostly hunt by ourselves, and sometimes with help from my kids.”
